Welcome to I.D. a project on identity through drama in South Africa. With thanks to the Simon Cumbers Media Challenge Fund we are now in the final process of editing a short series of reports and a documentary for KCLR 96fm radio in Carlow Kilkenny, a short drama piece with members of Carlow Youth theatre for broadcast on radio and for tour, and a photo exhibition.
The people involved are: Mags Murphy, KCLR 96fm, Sinead Dowling Visual Artist and photographer and Mags McMonagle Drama Facilitator.
On 1st April 2007, we travelled to South Africa to work with various groups through drama to discover issues of identity and to then compare and contrast the experiences with the members of Carlow Youth Theatre. Over the coming weeks you will see how this project developed, the people we met, the places we travelled and what we each learned from the experience.
You will view photographs from our travels and hopefully use this blog as a forum to continue highlighting issues in developing countries.
